Current water temps are running in the low-to-mid 70s and pushing eighty on the warmer days. Most of the bass are through spawning except for a few stragglers. Some fish are already showing up at on the river ledges. The Shad Spawn is the deal for the first hour of the day. A ton of fish is coming out of the brush piles in 7 to 8 foot of water as it is a good stopping point for them to recuperate from the spawn.
Also, fish are being caught on swim jigs and buzzbaits in the grass. As the water temperature gets into the mid-80s they will really make a major push out deep and that is where my specialty is. If you are interested in ledge fishing and just want to catch some fish out deep start booking for the end of May and June now as it will fill up fast. The ledge fishing on Lake Eufaula the past couple years has been as good as it has been in a long time. I look forward to fishing with you this Summer because as the temperatures get hot the offshore fishing will be even hotter.
