Lake Eufaula fishing is heating up! Had the opportunity to fish with a fine gentleman from New Jersey on the 14th. We ended up catching about 25 Bass on the day. We caught them from one foot of water all the way out to about 22 ft of water. Carolina rigs did most of the damage out deep while Chatterbaits,
square bills and rattle baits did the job when we moved shallow.
Bass are being caught just about any way you want to right now. Some are extremely shallow right now and will spawn on the next moon with the current temperatures. The shallow fish are being caught on square bill crankbaits, rattle baits, chatterbaits and swim jigs. A lot of fish are still out on the old river channel nowhere close to spawning. Those fish are being caught on Carolina rigs, football jigs, and a drop shot. Some fish are starting to show up in the brush piles staging up for the spawn. Lake Eufaula is really coming to life as it has taken 28 pounds to win tournaments up there the last 2 weekends. It’s only going to get better as we go on from here so book your trip now as things are filling up fast.
